Chesapeake NG Ventures’ investment portfolio to date includes:
- Clean Energy Fuels Corp. — Clean Energy Fuels (NYSE:CLNE) is creating America’s Natural Gas Highway System by building liquefied natural gas and compressed natural gas fueling infrastructure along interstate highways. This buildout of natural gas refueling infrastructure will lower transportation costs dramatically. In 2011, CNGV invested $160 million in CLNE and led the investment by others of an additional $240 million.
- Sundrop Fuels, Inc. — In 2011, Chesapeake committed $150 million to acquire a 50% equity interest in Sundrop Fuels (SDF), which is constructing the largest waste biomass-based “green gasoline” plant in the world. SDF’s proprietary approach combines natural gas and waste biomass at high temperatures to produce a tank-ready gasoline equivalent fuel. Natural gas is the key to turning our nation’s waste biomass into a plentiful, affordable, tank-ready hybrid green gasoline for automobiles, trucks, off-road vehicles and aircraft.
- Peake Fuel Solutions, L.L.C. — Peake Fuel Solutions advances innovative fuel solutions with products and services that create demand for America’s clean, affordable natural gas. A significant focus of Peake is to increase compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure across the U.S. Peake projects include development of diesel-natural gas (DNG) on-road and off-road technologies that are applied to existing diesel engines without alteration to the engine to dramatically cut fuel expenses for the trucking, maritime, rail, and the natural gas and oil industries.
- Wireless Seismic, Inc. — CNGV assists Chesapeake’s technical experts in the management of the company’s investment in Wireless Seismic, a company that developed the first wireless seismic data acquisition system with the ability to collect data in real time.
