How long after I submit my resume/application will it take to get a response?

There’s not a set time frame. Depending on the priority of the position for which you applied, the hiring manager and the evolving needs of the organization, response times can vary from days to possibly even months. If a recruiter wishes to schedule a phone screening or interview with you they will contact you by phone. They may also email you for additional information. If we decide to pursue other candidates, you will receive an email notifying you of our decision. Recruiters work as quickly as they can to go through all resumes to find the most qualified candidates. We receive approximately 15,000 applications every month, so it can be a lengthy process.

 

How will I be contacted?

A recruiter will contact you by phone if they wish to schedule a phone screening or interview with you. They may also email you for additional information. If we decide to pursue other candidates, you will receive an email notifying you of our decision.

 

I’ve applied online with Career Builder, Monster, etc.; Can I check the status of my resume?

You must apply online in order for us to receive your information and be able to check the status of your resume. If you apply through our partner sites, your information will automatically be added to the Chesapeake careers portal.

 

How do I check the status of my application?

Log into your account on the Chesapeake careers site, and there will be an application status under the position(s) for which you have applied.

 

What does the status of my application mean?

Is there someone I can call to discuss my application and/or its status?

Due to the high volume of applications we receive and our limited resources, our recruiters are not available to discuss an application unless they have contacted you for additional information or to schedule an interview.

 

Do you have any positions available in my area?

All of our available positions are posted on our website with locations and job descriptions. Click here to search for jobs in your area.

 

I saw an ad in the newspaper about a position with Chesapeake; How do I apply?

Visit our website at www.chk.com/careers for all available positions. The position may or may not still be available.

 

I’m going to be in town, can I schedule a meeting with a recruiter?

No, you must apply online in order to be considered for employment and you will be contacted by a recruiter if a manager requests an in-person meeting.

 

I don’t have access to a computer. Can I mail, fax or email my resume?

No, we only accept applications/resumes online. Some of our offices (including our main campus located in Oklahoma City) have an employment kiosk you may use to apply online. If you have a resume you would like to attach, we can provide assistance. If you are not near an office with an employment kiosk, we recommend you visit a local public library since they typically have Internet access. Our website address is www.chk.com/careers.

 

I am having trouble uploading my resume. Can I email it to you?

Yes, please email it to chkrecruit@chk.com and we can attach it to your profile. Please make sure you include your name and username in the email so we can attach your document to the correct user profile.

Note: Resumes sent to this email address will be discarded if a user profile has not been created. In order to be considered for employment, you must apply online.

 

I am having trouble completing my application online. Can you help?

Yes, please email chkrecruit@chk.com with a brief description of what difficulties you are having and one of our representatives will respond to you as quickly as possible. Please include your name and username so we can find your profile and address the problem promptly.

 

I’m receiving a system error when I apply online. How do I resolve this issue?

Please add "https://chk.taleo.net" to your trusted sites.

  1. Open your browser and click on Tools, Internet Options, Security, Sites
  2. Type "https://chk.taleo.net" in “Add this website to the zone” and click Add.
  3. Close

Go back to the careers section and complete your application.
