Q. How long after I submit my resume will it take to hear something back?
A. There’s not a set time frame. It could be a couple days, weeks, even months. Recruiters work as quickly as they can to go through all resumes to find the most qualified candidates. We get about 10,000 applications every month so it can be a lengthy process.
Q. How will I be contacted?
A. A recruiter will contact you by phone if they wish to schedule a phone screen or interview with you. They may also e-mail you to get more information, but in most cases, you can expect a phone call. If we decide to pursue other candidates, you will receive an e-mail notifying you of our decision.
Q. Do you have any positions available in my area?
A. All of our available positions are posted on our website with locations and job descriptions.
Q. I’ve applied online with Career Builder, Monster, etc…can I check the status of my resume?
A. You must apply on www.chk.com/careers in order for us to receive your information and be able to check the status of your resume.
Q. I saw an ad in the newspaper about a position with Chesapeake, how do I apply?
A. Visit our website at www.chk.com/careers for all available positions. The position may or may not still be available.
Q. I’m going to be in town, can I schedule a meeting with a recruiter?
A. No, you must apply online in order to be considered for employment and you will be contacted by a recruiter if a manager requests an in-person meeting.
Q. I don’t have access to a computer, can I mail, fax, or e-mail my resume?
A. No, we only accept applications/resumes online. Some of our offices (including our main campus located in Oklahoma City, OK) have an employment kiosk you may use to apply online. If you have a resume you would like to attach to your profile, please bring it with you and let the receptionist know you would like it attached to your newly created profile. If you are not near an office with an employment kiosk, we recommend you visit a local public library since they typically have internet access. Our website address is www.chk.com/careers.
Q. I am having trouble uploading my resume. Can I e-mail it to you?
A. Yes, please e-mail it to chkrecruit@chk.com and we can attach it to your profile. Please make sure you include your name and “username” in the e-mail so we attach your document to the correct user profile.
