Performance Technologies to Open New Facility in El Reno

Chesapeake affiliate to move headquarters;
More than 300 employees to be based in El Reno

EL RENO, OKLAHOMA, DECEMBER 7, 2012 – Performance Technologies L.L.C., an affiliate of Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE:CHK), today announced the opening of its new El Reno facility at the southeast corner of Radio Road and I-40. The more than 70,000-square-foot facility will function as the new corporate headquarters for the pressure pumping service business. Set to open in the first quarter of 2013, the office, maintenance shop and warehouse space will serve as a hub for more than 300 Performance Technologies employees based in El Reno.

“As our company grows, so does our investment in El Reno,” said Bill Stanger, Performance Technologies President. “We are proud to celebrate our first-year anniversary by building this new office and bringing even more jobs to the city. Having our headquarters in El Reno positions the company to serve Chesapeake’s regional operations and prepares us for future development.”

Performance Technologies’ new facility was the site of a groundbreaking on Friday for the new Radio Road and I-40 interchange. Governor Mary Fallin, Secretary of Transportation Gary Ridley, El Reno City Manager Tony Rivera and Chesapeake CEO Aubrey McClendon gathered with legislative and community leaders to announce the infrastructure development, a successful public/private sector partnership. The building of the interchange, coupled with the introduction of the office, showcases the economic vitality brought to El Reno by the energy industry.

Performance Technologies recently celebrated the anniversary of its first completion job, signifying the company’s first year in business. The company provides pressure pumping services for natural gas and oil well stimulation treatments to improve the production of wells. It specializes in new and developing unconventional fields and currently focuses operations in Oklahoma and Texas. The company plans to expand soon to provide services in other developing oil and gas plays within the United States.
