
The Chesapeake Midstream companies were formed to provide pipeline infrastructure for Chesapeake’s production operations. Our assets are strategically located in Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas and West Virginia.
Our midstream companies provide four key links to the natural gas value chain:

Chesapeake Midstream Development (CMD)
Chesapeake Midstream Development (CMD) has both wholly owned subsidiaries and a joint venture (JV) with Global Infrastructure Partners. CMD has a strong asset base located in the Haynesville Shale, in Caddo and Desoto parishes, Louisiana; the Fayetteville Shale, located in Van Buren, Faulkner and White counties, Arkansas; the Marcellus Shale in Pennsylvania, southwest New York and northwest West Virginia; and other assets within Chesapeake Midstream Partners. Chesapeake Midstream Development is focused on the development of new fields in support of Chesapeake Energy Corporation’s upstream operations.
Chesapeake Midstream Partners (CMP)
Chesapeake Midstream Partners, L.L.C. is a 50/50 joint venture with Chesapeake Energy Corporation and Global Infrastructure Partners. CMP’s operations focus on gathering produced natural gas from the wellhead, compressing, processing and treating the gathered gas for delivery to long-haul pipelines for transportation to end markets. CMP has a strong asset base in the Barnett Shale in and around Fort Worth, Texas, and in the Mid-Continent region of Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Kansas and New Mexico. The Anadarko and Permian Basins are two of the more significant areas of operation in CMP’s Mid-Continent region, with significant development occurring in the Sahara, Granite and Colony Wash plays.
