Why is Chesapeake Midstream transitioning to a new system?

Chesapeake has experienced tremendous growth over the last few years. It’s important that we continually improve the way we conduct business while establishing a foundation which enables us to sustain our future growth.

One of the first steps is to simplify and improve the way Chesapeake Midstream manages its Accounting and Supply Chain. Our transition to PeopleSoft impacts the way we do business across Chesapeake Midstream, not just for vendor relations.

What do these changes mean to me as a Chesapeake vendor?

Through more simplified and improved processes in Accounting and Supply Chain, we hope to improve payment cycle times and provide consistency in our documentation for both materials and services purchase orders, ultimately making it easier for you to do business with us.

One of the first steps in this process involves integrating our current vendor database into PeopleSoft, which is why we are asking for you to provide us with your most current and accurate company information. Our new system will also generate a new vendor number for your company so that we can easily identify all business transactions with you.

How can I ensure these new changes have minimal impact on my ability to do business with Chesapeake?

First, it is important that you provide us with your most current company information in the template provided on our Chesapeake Midstream Vendor Relations website. Your prompt response will help minimize the impact of our transition on you and our ability to do business with you.

Secondly, we encourage you to familiarize yourselves with our improved business processes around Supply Chain Management by staying in touch with the latest information on our Chesapeake Midstream Vendor Information website and reading and responding to communications sent to you. You should expect to receive updates on our transition in the coming months.

What company information will I be asked to provide?

You will be asked to provide your business name and email address along with primary and secondary contact information. The form will also ask which address should be used for Purchase Orders and the Remit Address (address to which payments should be sent).

Ultimately, all this information will be saved in our vendor database and will enable more efficient communication via email with you. It will also provide you with a newly assigned vendor number.

When can I expect to see these changes?

The PeopleSoft deployment is a multi-phased project, which we will begin implementing on April 2, 2012. You can expect to experience these changes moving forward from this point.

Who can I contact for more information?

You can email us at midstreaminfo@chk.com with your questions, visit our website for updated information and to read our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) or contact us at 877-CHK-1GAS. We will do our best to address all your inquiries in a timely manner.
