Where You Find Your Fit at Chesapeake
With corporate headquarters in Oklahoma City, an Eastern Division headquarters in Charleston, West Virginia and field offices throughout the country, Chesapeake is on the move!
With the best professionals, industry experts and the use of cutting edge technology, Chesapeake is investing in success.
Chesapeake’s corporate headquarters in Oklahoma City has the feel of a university campus, with the kind of environment you would expect from a company that values its employees: well-equipped offices and facilities to help get the job done, in an atmosphere that makes coming to work a pleasure.
- The company’s grounds more closely resemble a university than a typical corporate headquarters, with a casually professional atmosphere. More than 28 buildings are integrated with meandering streams and well-tended landscaping. Inside, they hold state-of-the-art facilities designed to provide optimal work environments for our geosciences, drilling and production, land and administrative employees.
- Chesapeake operates our own Reservoir Technology Center, which allows the company to better understand and solve the challenges of the unconventional reservoirs on which we focus and from which we believe vast new reserves of natural gas can be developed. By having the RTC right here on our campus, we get immediate, on-site results of core evaluations; which allows Chesapeake to continue to achieve industry-leading value creation.
- The Oklahoma City campus houses a leading-edge seismic visualization center,

featuring wall-sized rear projected screens that display vivid images of the earth’s subsurface, similar to virtual reality technology used in modern filmmaking. Use of 3-D seismic technology enables geologists to find hidden natural gas prospects miles below the earth’s surface.
- Chesapeake’s 42,000-square-foot Health and Fitness Center is located on campus, and plays host to a wide range of recreation programs, group exercise classes, cardio machines, a weight room, basketball courts, racquetball courts, swimming pool, fitness assessments, and preventative health screenings. The Fitness Center and park provide the settings for more than a score of highly competitive athletic teams comprised of Chesapeake employees.
- Also on campus are two restaurants, The Wildcat and FUEL, which offer a wide
variety of healthy choices for breakfast and lunch. From a fresh salad bar, to made-to-order deli line, and grill, employees find there’s always something cooking at Chesapeake.
- The Blue Room Theatre, Chesapeake’s newest on-campus destination site, is a state-of-the art theater that provides a setting for presentations by outstanding industry experts, speakers and business meetings. On weekends, The Blue Room turns into an entertainment center, with screenings of classic feature films for employees and their guests.

Eastern Division Headquarters - Charleston , WV
The growth in the Eastern Division headquarters of Charleston, West Virginia, mimics Chesapeake’s momentum. Since acquiring Columbia Natural Resources in 2005, Chesapeake has tripled its investment in the Appalachian Basin by hiring nearly 200 talented employees, by utilizing advanced drilling techniques and by supporting causes that enrich the community.
Additional investment is on the way to Charleston. The Appalachian Basin, stretching from Alabama to New York, is often referred to as the “most drilled and least explored” region of America. Chesapeake believes great potential for wealth exists here with the use of new technological advances for exploration and development,. That means more jobs and more opportunities for advancement. There are no limits on future growth at the Charleston headquarters.
Since entering West Virginia, Chesapeake Energy has supported numerous agencies and programs: schools, law enforcement, the arts and economic development initiatives have all benefited from Chesapeake’s presence. Our employees are actively involved in numerous charitable organizations across the region.
Charleston —a GREAT place to live!
Charleston is the doorway to “Wild and Wonderful West Virginia.” Two thousand miles of America’s best whitewater rafting are just a short drive away. The state is also blessed with outstanding hiking, biking, skiing and boating, as well as several upscale resorts in breathtaking settings.
Charleston is also recognized as one of the best places in the country to live. The city was highlighted in the June 2007 edition of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine, which cited Charleston’s growing creative class and low cost of living as two of its top attributes.

Chesapeake ’s compensation structure is unparalleled in the energy industry. We evaluate and reward our employees two times a year through a compensation and performance evaluation program that leads to biannual pay increases, cash bonuses and stock grants.
We consider our twice-a-year grants of Chesapeake restricted corporate stock to be a critical component of our overall compensation package. We feel this so strongly that every permanent, full-time employee receives restricted stock grants when they begin their Chesapeake career.
Paid vacation, sick leave and personal leave are other important employee benefits at Chesapeake. We also offer employee and dependent medical and dental insurance coverage, prescription drug benefits, vision care plan, medical expense reimbursement and dependent care reimbursement plan.
