On February 1, 2019, Chesapeake Energy Corporation (Chesapeake) completed its merger with WildHorse Resource Development Corporation (WildHorse). As such, your lease agreement with WildHorse will be administered by Chesapeake on a going forward basis.
While the terms of your lease will not change due to the merger, we recognize that during this transition period, you may have questions regarding your lease and/or royalty payments. Chesapeake has established a dedicated phone line and email address for WildHorse landowners. The dedicated phone line is (877) 245-1427 and is staffed with Chesapeake Owner Relations personnel Monday – Thursday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., and Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Central time. The dedicated email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Chesapeake began developing natural gas in Louisiana’s Haynesville Shale in 2008 and continues building strong relationships with the region’s leaders and residents. Since the development of the Haynesville Shale, nine Northwest Louisiana parishes have become significant drivers for the state's economy and royalty owners. We remain committed to supporting the communities where we live and work while reducing our environmental footprint through efficient drilling, reduced air emissions and less surface activity.
Additionally, please find below a list of Frequently Asked Questions related to interacting with Chesapeake’s Owner Relations team. We look forward to servicing your lease and will provide updates in the coming months as the transition moves forward. When corresponding with Chesapeake, please have your owner number available so we can more quickly access your account. Your owner number appears at the top of your revenue check next to the check date.
