Code & Orientation
We prioritize the protection of all people and the environment in and around our operating sites. As our trusted partner, you are empowered to make decisions that support this value and are in alignment with our Supplier Code of Conduct and relevant policies.
Our Supplier Code of Conduct mandates that all suppliers share Chesapeake’s commitment to providing a safe and ethical workplace and to conducting operations in an environmentally and socially responsible manner. It also identifies methods for reporting concerns and ethical issues and requires that suppliers abide by our commitment to human rights.

Contractor Orientation
Suppliers as a term include both our vendors (those who supply us with materials) and contractors (those who work on our locations). Every Chesapeake contractor must complete an orientation prior to conducting work on a Chesapeake site. To help manage this orientation and other health, safety and environmental (HSE) requirements, we joined with ISNetworld (ISN) — the global leader in contractor and supplier management.
Stop Work Authority
Any partner on our sites has the right, responsibility and authority to stop any task that’s believed to be unsafe or non-compliant. Through Stop Work Authority, you are empowered to speak up to protect the health and safety of others, the environment and our communities without repercussion for stopping working in good faith.
Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace
As part of Chesapeake’s commitment to safety, we enforce a strict drug and alcohol free workplace. Our expectations and requirements around a work environment free of illegal drug and alcohol use can be found here.
If you have any questions about these requirements, email DER@chk.com.
